The countdown to multiple universes starts now!

The countdown to multiple universes starts now! - Mind's Vision

After a long gestating period and many hiccups along the way (you can read it here), Nomads Unbound is ready to launch! Things have changed along the way, so we would like to clarify some points and ensure everyone is on the same page.

New scope (including a new box)

Yes, Nomads Unbound has a brand-new box with fresh, new artwork by our leading artist, Heitor Aquino. We believe the concept effectively captures the core fantasy of our game, with characters passing through a portal from the front cover to the back of the box.
As mentioned in our previous posts, the game is now ready and reviewed. We have added more original artwork and made a few adjustments to the accessories and expansions, which will support the game for years to come. More on that later.

We also have a start date for the campaign: September 23rd, 2025. Yes, less than a month!

No physical minis, just STLs (for now)

The most crucial change is that, for this phase of the campaign, we will be offering all miniatures in STL format for printing ONLY – and we will also work with partners that can print them on demand for those who don’t have a 3D printer or simply don’t want to deal with it. All followers will receive the Collector Kauva mini in STL format, regardless of their chosen tier.

The reason for this is related to the entire US Tariff ordeal. While we don’t want to get into political discussions, it is undeniable that these rushed policies had a devastating effect on our industry. As a two-person indie studio, the idea of being suddenly hit by unexpected tariff fluctuations overnight could be fatal, so we need to be cautious – for our fans as well, since many of these expenses might not be absorbable. We believe it is better to take these defensive measures now, even if it means disappointing a few, rather than disappointing many more later with delays and price hikes.

The idea is to offer a box with paper components only, which can be easily printed in multiple countries and is less likely to be subject to taxes and tariffs. Adding plastic products, especially miniatures, can significantly increase the complexity of assembly, shipping, storage, and customs processes that we must avoid at this time.

So, to reiterate, all minis, terrains, and accessories in this current campaign will be offered only as STL files. Once things settle, we will resume work on providing plastic miniatures, possibly at a later stage or even as a separate campaign in the future.

More gaming!

With the extra development time, we worked with Marcelo Collar, creator of Nomads Unbound, to add even more material to the game. This will include a brand-new Advanced Combat Module, which can effectively turn the game into a tactical, wargame-like tabletop experience. It is entirely optional, but since we are working on so many amazing miniatures, we figured it could be a cool feature to explore. As with any other game we offer, customization is key, and you can play the way you want to play.

We are also working on mini-expansions that will explore the lore and other universes as we progress. Backers will receive the first one for free, and we will also share a whole year of content soon – from wasteland mutant rats to kung-fu fighting monsters, passing through cybernetic cosmic horrors and bizarre amalgamations of different time periods and settings, we will have it all. More details on these in the upcoming posts!

We are also developing extra decks of cards that will help set scenes, add premade characters and enemies, and all sorts of oracles. Once again, everything will be optional, and you will be free to choose what suits you best.

Thank you for your patience so far. We hope to see you back here on September 23rd! (Yes, we will have an Early Bird special!)
