We'd like to reveal Aracno Lord Kumo, one of the Hollowspawn you’ll find among the Nomads Unbound miniatures (and standees) and in the content packs. But what exactly are these creatures, and how do they work in the game?
One of the most mysterious concepts in Nomads Unbound is the Hollow, the space between universes. When a Nomad travels across different worlds, they leave behind a trail, like the contrails of an airplane streaking across the sky. These traces, containing images, thoughts, and emotions, sometimes blend within the Hollow, forming places, sensations, and in some rare cases, life.
The Hollowspawn are the manifestation of these traces. Many are irrational creatures, driven by an instinctive force that compels them to hunt the Nomads —the anomalies within the multiverse that create them, while others, more sophisticated, have their own motives and agendas.
In gameplay, the Hollowspawn Creation Table helps players generate not only the appearance, attributes, and powers of these beings, but also potential Agreements: pacts that can be forged between characters and these powerful entities. Such deals give players concrete goals to pursue, often in exchange for valuable advantages… or simple survival.
The Hollowspawn play a vital role in Nomads Unbound, both in the game’s lore and as a key gameplay mechanic capable of generating intriguing hooks and an endless variety of adventures in just a few steps. A lot of our focus after the campaign will be on creating even more of these characters (and we will reach out to you for your opinion).
