A FAQ before we start!

A FAQ before we start! - Mind's Vision

We are very excited about our upcoming launch! Just a few hours away!! But before we start, we thought it could be a good thing to recap a few things and explain others, especially when there are a few timed elements in the campaign.

Q: So, what kind of game is Nomads Unbound? Is it an RPG? A narrative board game? I’m confused!

A: One of our goals is to create games that offer extensive customization, so players can play the way they want – if you ever played some of our previous games like The Legacy of Cthulhu or Infaernum, you know. Nomads Unbound can be played as an RPG, with a group of players interpreting characters and interacting with each other, or as a Solo RPG with a player managing situations with tables. At the same time, Nomads Unbound can work as a narrative board game where a single person can manage multiple characters, situations, and combat with a lot of flexibility and speed, avoiding downtime by skipping complex rules in favor of prompts from the various charts included and the deck of cards. It can even be played as a light tactical wargame by the use of tile sets and miniatures (either paper or 3d printed) with the Advanced Combat module.

Q: Is this a pre-order? This is my first time in a crowdfunding campaign!

A: No, our campaign exists to allow us to gather funds to cover expenses we have had so far to create the game, and to pay for printing and development of extra content and artwork. If we gather enough funds required to greenlight the game, the campaign will end successfully, and only then will your credit card be charged.

It is important to note that, at this stage, your pledge only covers the product. At a later date, we will open a new phase called Pledge Manager, where you will confirm your shipping address and pay for the shipping fee. This happens because the game is still being tweaked and changing, so only then will we know the final weight and dimensions of the game to calculate freight and shipping costs. At that stage, we might add some extras as well. For more information, please read all the details on the main campaign page once it starts.

Q: You mentioned there are timed elements. What are those?

A: The campaign will last for roughly 36 days, so that’s our deadline to get the game funded. But we have more ideas on how to make it even better, and to incentivize people to make pledges, we will have a few stretch goals and add-ons that might be of interest.

The one that might require the fastest action is our Early Bird special. Backers who make any pledge in the first 48 hours will receive a micro-expansion called The Schmitz Residence (you can read more here). Another micro-expansion will be given as a social stretch goal, and we will have some other stretch goals announced as the campaign continues.

As add-ons, we will offer a very limited set of physical miniatures of the 12 core figures in the base game. We will only have 100 of those, and they will come with a hand-signed and numbered certificate of authenticity and custom box. The numbers will be assigned according to the pledge order. Some statuettes will also be available in the same conditions.

Q: What’s gonna be included in the physical box?

A: The Collector’s Edition box will be a limited edition with the following content:
  • Limited Edition Box
  • Lore Book (90 pages)
  • Creation Book (62 pages)
  • Rule and Oracle Book (142 pages)
  • Advanced Combat Rules booklet
  • 4 types of Player sheets
  • 8 Scene/Terrain Cards
  • Custom Poker Deck
  • 40 Characters on Punchboard Standees
  • Quick Access Charts
If you were impressed with the content from our Infaernum Limited Edition, expect an even more robust package.

Q: How about the digital content?

A: The Digital Base game will feature all content from the physical box, but in PDF format, so you can print at home. For those who want a Print-on-Demand version, we will offer the possibility of ordering a copy from DriveThruRPG around the time of distribution.

The Content Packs are still in deep development and things might change, but they should follow the same formula of having a booklet with extra rules, game modules, or settings, plus a set of cards that will help set up scenes, and a pack of miniatures (in STL and Print-and-Play formats).

The current tentative delivery schedule for these is:
  • Content Pack I: Dec 2025/Jan 2026 (right after the delivery of the Digital Base game)
  • Content Pack II: Feb/March 2026
  • Content Pack III: May/June 2026 (around the delivery of the physical game)
  • Content Pack IV: Sep/Oct 2026

These will also offer an option for Print-on-Demand.

Q: If the goal is reached quickly, why should I still back the campaign?

A: First, you will support a small independent team that is bringing innovative games from around the world to English for the first time! But there are more practical benefits like:
  • Deep discounts for the absolute best price!
  • Free content, including the Content Pack 1 - Advanced Combat, any unlocked stretch goals, and the Collector Kauva STL (Gamefound exclusive variant) for those who followed the campaign.
  • You can get the digital game and the box before they are made available on digital marketplaces and retail stores!
  • You will have access to backer-exclusive polls to help us define a few details.
  • Early access to other tools and demos to be announced later.

That's it for now! We will be back soon with more updates, and in the meantime, don't hesitate to reach out and ask questions! Remember, our campaign starts on September 23rd at 12 pm EST!
